Wetter
In the morning overcast with very light rain. Later it brightened up and again very hot and sunny. Late in the evening, after our arrival to Basle, quiet rain, which I enjoy on a terrace down to the river.

Bemerkungen
Slow morning with a detour into town after breakfast and a look at the Aare tributary's flow into the Rhine. Overcast morning makes it pleasant to bike. Another puncture doesn't. Incredibly I keep on having these punctures despite a new tyre! Lunch besides the cathedral of Bad Saeckingen, where there's a wedding going on. A look at the coverd wooden bridge. Coffee break above the Rhine bridge of Rheinfelden with many flags on it. We cross to the Swiss side and have a look at the flawless town and market square with a wheat beer and a cola as a natural consequence. We follow the river on the Swiss side. But go shopping for food on the German as it's much cheaper and go into Switzerland and Basle. We watch a lot of people swimming in the river and meet a Danish speaking Swiss couple. That's mad! Accomodation at the Basle youth hostel, which is new and posh. We cook our dinner outside (some fried potato wedges and chicken filet). Afterwards I have a stroll on my own into town. I sit in the rain enjoying the freshness and then outside a beer pub on the central amusement square of Barfuesserplatz. The pain in my ear is now almost gone.
