Charakter
Two weeks of summer cycling with my son Simon. It begins with two days in Munich (Monday, July 13 in the morning to Tuesday, July 14 in the evening). Accomodation at the campsite of Thalkirchen. Options in Munich: Visit at the BMW plant, attend Bayern Munich's training at the training facility on Saebener Str. and a visit to the new Nazi documentation center in the former Nazi Party headquarters. After the start in Munich, we take a direct train to Lindau on Lake Constance, where our cycling holiday begins. In the evening we go 5 km cycling from the main train station in Lindau to Camping Eschbach in Wasserburg. After cycling along the Bodensee northern shore and then down towards the Rhine's flow out of the lake in Stein am Rhein. The next week we will ride along the Rhine with rest days in Basel (Sunday, 19 July) and Strasbourg (Wednesday, 22 July). The intermediate goal of our tour is Karlsruhe, where we stay overnight and the next morning take the train to Mainz-Marienborn. Short trip to ZDF, the second German television program, where we will participate in a guided tour. From here a short stage to Wiesbaden and Simon's aunt and family where our cycling holiday ends in a familiar spirit. On Sunday a train from Wiesbaden back to Odense.

Landschaft
Near-Alpine landscape on Lake Constance's opposite bank. There are many towns and seaside resorts along the lake, which is much visited. Opportunity to visit the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen, where the era of the giant airships is reviewed. It was in this city, the zeppeliners were built. Along the Rhine we change border between Germany and Switzerland several times. In Neuhausen near Schaffhausen, we must see the famous Rhine fall, one of Europe's largest and most powerful waterfalls. On the Swiss side several beautiful old towns like Kaiserstuhl and Rheinfelden nest on the riverbank, which we will pay a short visit. Basel will have a longer stop. Here we stay at the hostel for two nights. In Basel we will have a look at the old city with the cathedral plus watch FC Basel's match against FC Vaduz from Liechtenstein. FC Basel's Daniel Høegh's new club to which he has changed this summer from OB. After Basel the Rhine flows to the north, where it previously flowed to the west. Between Basel and Karlsruhe only a few towns are passed on the bike trail, as it follows the river bank pretty close, so here we'll experience the river and a landscape of old river arms, now nature reserves. First night at that part is on the French side of the Rhine near the fortress town of Neuf-Brisach. The highlight in this part is a rest day in Strasbourg with the European institutions and the old town with canals and the cathedral. We stay two nights at the German side of the Rhine. In Karlsruhe, we will see the Baroque castle and get a sense of the city's structure. This year the 300 years city anniversary is celebrated, so I think the city is at its most beautiful side.
