Haus Hameren hat im westlichen Münsterland über viele Jahrhunderte hinweg eine große Rolle gespielt. Einst war es eine wehrhafte Burganlage, die urkundlich schon im 13. Jahrhundert im Besitz der Ritter von Hameren erwähnt wird. Es befindet sich im Besitz von Baron Degenhard von Twickel zu Hameren.
