After a good night's sleep accompanied by Bernhard's snoring Saturday was planned a bike excursion to Barsoe, a Southern Jutland island off the coast of Loejt Land. The weather was pleasant and warm, and Michael had laid out a beautiful route through Felsted, which bore witness of the coming passage of the peloton of the Tour de France, and the water mill of Krusmoelle, which is really beautifully situated in nature. At Lundsbjerg we made a lovely detour down to Styrtom. Styrtom means "topple", and so we toppled at Soelyst Inn, as the clock had passed eleven and we were due to mind our fluid balance. So far we left out the town of Aabenraa and went up the Knap-trail, a disused railway track. The landscape was quite hilly, and after our arrival at Barsoe ferry landing I had to visit my lunch box for the first time. I have a famously insufficient body battery. It constantly has to be fuelled. On top of that I had forgotten my bidon. But luckily I found a tap in the small ferry harbour. Soon the little ferry pootled in and soon after we hit the Little Belt. Many yachts were to be seen in the lovely weather with a brisk but warm wind. On the island of Barsoe we immediately went up on top of Gyldenbjerg, a 39 m high hill with a magnificent view of the fine islands and the Southern Jutland mainland. Here we finally dug into our lunch boxes and emptied them. Aahh.

After idle cycling on the gravel roads of Barsoe we returned to the harbour, where the café surprisingly was open. There were indeed many guests, so the talkative landlord made a brisk business selling coffee and ice cream. Now the ferry was soon due to go back to the mainland and spat us out in the harbour near a nice sandy beach, from which Michael and I had a nice swim. We all enjoyed laying lazily in the sand afterwards.

Here we agreed to find a restaurant in Aabenraa on our way home to Bremsmaj. The cycle route into town was very beautiful and picturesque. So it was ind the old town of Aabenraa. This town can't quite measure itself with our hometown of Soenderborg, but it definetely has its virtues. Those we also enjoyed sitting in an outdoor restaurant on the market square. The food was plenty and delicious, which was good, as cyclists always feel a strong appetite.

The hill out of Styrtom was a bit troublesome. Nevertheless, via the "minute road" and through Felsted we soon were back in Bremsmaj again. Here we engaged in chilling, beer drinking af watching football on the telly, before it was time to turn in.
