Character

Bike holiday 2014 with Simon. Planned in the end of the summer holiday, weeks 30 to 31 (July 21st to August, 3rd) og weeks 31 to 32 (July 28th to August 10th). Duration: Two weeks. Accomodation: Each a tent on registered camp sites.

In total 400 km. Hereof 116 km i Switzerland, 191 km in Austria and 93 km i Germany.

The route consists of two parts. First part is along the river Inn (contributary to the Donau) from its source to Jenbach, about 40 km after (east of) Innsbruck. The first part is signposted as route 65 or 6 in Switzerland and as "Inntal-Radweg" (Inn valley cycle route) or "R1" and thereafter "R2" in Austria.

The second part consists of the so called VBT ("Via Bavarica Tyrolensis" ("The road from Bavaria to Tyrol"). It has an western (along the Isar) and an eastern variant. We plan to take the eastern variant via Tegernsee and Holzkirchen. This route is (sparcely) signposted as "VBT". The distance of the second part is 127 km.
