In noch knuffiger Kühle das mit viel Straßenbeton veranzte obere Dilltal abwärts bis Herborn-Burg. Hier beginnt der wunderbare Bahntrassenradweg auf der ex-Westerwald-Querbahn, der sich in S-Kurven von 230 auf 500 m NN hochwindet, unten schönes Tal, oben fantastische Aussichten. Immer gerade noch auf hessischem Gebiet über die Höhen des Westerwaldes, seit kurzem mit soliden Windkraftanlagen (3 GW/Stück, 8 m Schafttdurchmesser) besetzt. Ansonsten große wellige Hochfläche mit Wiesen und Weiden. Steil hinunter ins Tal des Kerkerbaches. Teilweise auf der Trasse der ex-Kerkertalbahn, teils auf Straße mit enigen kurzen Gegensteigungen immer dem Tal folgend bis an die Lahn. Teils hübsch mit Alleen und Baumgruppen, teils Agrarsteppe, wenig Siedlungen.
Schließlich an der Lahn nach Limburg. Die Brücke der A3 über die Lahn wird neu gebaut, daher Umleitung mit solider Gegensteigung, dafür aber eindrückliche Aussicht auf die ICE-Brücke und die BAB-Brückenbaustelle. Unterkunft im Hotel Martin am Bf. Limburg. Kurz in die Altstadt zum rustikalen Abendessen. Heftiger Tourismus-Auftrieb.
