Radtour Eiserner Vorhang Tour, Teil 3 Gdingen-Asch

In the morning a ferry took me across the river to the fishing town of Freest. A fresh to stiff breeze blew from the West, so it was a true headwind stage to Stralsund. My lunch box I emptied af Ludwigsburg and then cycled to Greifswald, a lovely old hansa league town on the river Ryck, where I enjoyed a cup of coffee in the sun, served by a likewise lovely young lady. Afterwards all kinds of pleasant and peculiar thoughts about having invited her to my hotel in Stralsund went through my head, when I ventured out on the last 40 km, which turned out a piece of hard work, mostly because of 19 km of cobble stone road on top of the headwind and some climbs. So it was really a pleasure to check into my hotel Hafenblick in the old town and even more pleasant to wander about in the streets and squares of Stralsund. This town is a gemstone and it has retained its athmosphere. At the restaurant Torschliesserhaus (gatecloserhouse), where I tucked away enormous amounts of food and beer, it's just so cosy. I felt really well. I ended the evening at a crammed sports bar with the Champions League semifinal Manchester City vs. Real Madrid
