Reisebericht

Today was supposed to be a day of rest, but I definitely wanted to move to my little campsite first. Even before, I wanted to do my laundry, but it wasn't easy in the sterile environment. Dirty clothes, ugh! I was successful at the marina, but the boss of the marina said that at five o'clock he would close the office. And I had plans of going to Lübeck and enjoying life in the exciting city of sights. Stupidly done! More so, as I could easily have managed to wash and dry my clothes at the naturfreundehaus' campsite in the evening. And so I did, since the first laundry had been without soap. Well, I checked in at the campsite, disposed of my luggage and rushed to the bike ferry across the Trave to Travemuende. From here I took an excursion boat to Luebeck. It was an exciting 1½ hours on the boat, as we were told a lot about especially the ships, the villages and the industry along the Trave. Just what I like. But the stay in Luebeck was far too short, only half an hour, but I had to return in order to pick up my laundry. Sometimes I just don't do things smartly, and this was an example. I would indeed have liked to visit the famous Hanseatic Museum here in the queen of Hanseatic cities. But I had to postpone that to another opportunity. Furthermore, I was not allowed to empty my lunch box on the excursion boat. I did it undercover anyway and bought a weissbier to accompany my lunch. Out in Travemuende again, I wanted to go up the many floors of the hugely high Maritim hotel. But their elevator were out of order due to inspection, and the stairs were not an option for me. So I took the cycle ferry to Priwall, picked up my laundry and cycled out to my tent and luggage. While I was cooking on the gas stove at a covered table-bench set, a woman hiker arrived, with whom I later struck up a good conversation. It was Anja's first evening on a hike along the Baltic coast. Unfortunately, nothing more came out of that acquaintance. Or into it, as a matter of fact. But I noted that she jumped naked into the water at the tent site towards the inlet of Poetenitzer Wiek. A child of nature like myself. I never got to ask her if she wanted to see my tent from the inside. It just wasn't a day I got things done in a smart way.
