Vrchlabí (deutsch Hohenelbe) ist eine Stadt im Okres Trutnov in der Region Královéhradecký kraj in Tschechien. Sie wird auch als „das Tor zum Riesengebirge“ bezeichnet.
Vrchlabí bietet neben dem historischen Stadtkern weitere Sehenswürdigkeiten sowie zahlreiche Cafés und Restaurants.
Sehenswürdigkeiten
- ⊙Das Schloss (Vrchlabský zámek) mit vier achteckigen Türmen wurde 1546–1548 neben einem alten Wasserkastell errichtet. 1820 wurde es umgebaut, wobei die Burgmauern abgetragen und die Wassergräben zugeschüttet wurden.
- ⊙Das Renaissance-Rathaus von 1591 wurde 1732 barockisiert und 1927 restauriert.
- Holzhäuser aus dem 16. Jahrhundert
- ⊙Die Kirche St. Laurentius, Diakon und Märtyrer in Vrchlabí ist eine römisch-katholische Dekanatskirche, die 1886–1889 vom Prager Architekten Stephan Tragl im neugotischen Stil erbaut wurde.
