Cycle Tour Vedsoe Naturist Camp and Viborg

Two days of cycling with the naturist camp of Vedsoe near Viborg as my goal. Is to be ridden in the late summer of 2019.

Hilly mid-Jutland lake highland with several notable climbs east of Silkeborg. The lakes characterize the whole bike tour. First, I pass Jutland's largest lake of Mossoe, then Knudsoe and Birksoe near the town of Ry Julsø at Laven, Tange lake (artificially dammed) near Ans and the target lake, if you like, Vedsoe, on which southern bank life is enjoyed in the altogether, weather permitting. I hope this is the case! The broad valley of the stream of Gudenaa is also a clear feature of the landscape en route from Skanderborg. In the evening I plan a bike ride to the center of Viborg to enjoy the delights of beer at the brewhouse Oelluminati. The next day is devoted to parts of two famous Danish cycling routes. First the Hærvejs route (oxen road route), then the Bryrup disused railway track, also called the Silkeborg-Horsens nature trail. The first highlight for me on the Hærvejs route is Hald lake with the manor of Hald and Dollerup hills. Hald lake is a deep (34 m) moraine lake, which on a map resembles a bird that is taking off. Between "body" and "wing" stands Inderoe forest and just southwest of it lie the heather-clad, nature reserve hills at Dollerup. I follow The Oxen Road, Danish national cycle route no. 3, through Thorning, past Grathe church and heath, where Knud, Svend and Valdemar fought for royal power in the Middle Ages and west of Funder hill and Silkeborg down to Velling hills with the old Vrads station, where in summer still a vintage train runs to Bryrup. I want to see and swim here in Snabe Igelsoe, a small nutrient-poor and clear-watered forest lake. A little natural gem that I have good cycling holiday memories about. Here I change the cycle route to the Bryrup disused railway track, which via Braedstrup and Oestbirk leads me all the way to today's and the whole cycle trip's goal in Horsens.

HOMEBOUND: Train from Horsens to Odense. Dep. Horsens st. at 7.43 pm or 8.11 pm, arrival at Odense st. at 8.49 pm or 9.19 pm. No  train change.
