Cycle Tour Iron Curtain Tour, part 3 Gdynia-Aš

To the west of Mielno one seaside resort follows the next one. The bike paths were certainly okay, and often even more as after Ustronie Morskie, where I had my packed lunch. The path was really handsomely made and cyclists are obviously ranked highly. Now my intermediate goal was the city of Kołobrzeg or Kolberg in Danish and German. Here I visited the Holy Mary Cathedral, a classical Gothic red brick church, as every former Hansa city of a certain size and significance has. An ice dessert and two large cups of coffee at a café on the cathedral square I also treated myself to. After Kołobrzeg several large dunes followed. At one place they had built a long bridge across it for cyclists. It was probably the best cycling solution over all on the cycling holiday. After Mrzeżyno there was a large military area near the coast, and here the bike paths were quite poor. Really many tree roots! In spite of that I reached my goal town of Niechorze quite early in the day. Although it was Saturday night I didn't find an open restaurant, but shopped and cooked a reasonable dinner in the kitchen of the well groomed campsite. And here there were other campers present. For the first time in Poland.
