Cycle Tour Iron Curtain Tour, part 3 Gdynia-Aš

On Monday I had planned a rest day in Świnoujście. The morning went with doing laundry and relaxing. After lunch I made a bike trip to the western jetty at the mouth of the river Świna into the Baltic sea. Here most of the water from the very large river Oder also reaches the sea. The fort Aniola I also payed a visit. Not many people behind the cooling walls. Especially the cafe was nice with an art exhibition, where beautiful art was for sale at very reasonable prices. Afterwards I went into the town centre and further on south across the German border and up the hille of Golm, where many victims of the disastrous American air raid on Swindemuende in March 1945 are buried and commemorated in a park and in a small exhibition. In the everning after delicsious dinner in the spa area I looked for som night life in the large hotels near the beach, but they were all dead as my home city of Odense on a Monday.
