Weather
In the morning it was overcast, but later a nice sunny day. Just a light breeze from the East, so the tailwind was back. Mild temperatures, in the afternoon even warm, but chilly in the evening.

Travel report

Today was the Ascension of Christ, which in Germany is Men's Day, when especially younger men make trips out into the green, preferably with handcart filled with beer crates and a ghetto blaster to drown out the birdsong. I met many of them on my way to Barth along the fjord coast. Here there are many long inlets, the so-called Bodden, which separate the islands further out from the hinterland. I had lunch at a very popular set of tables and benches overlooking a fjord. The wind had died down and was now again in the east, so the headwind had become a tailwind. And the sun shone merrily. In Barth I had a luxury treat of two pieces of cake, a bucket of coffee and afterwards a weissbier. A visit to the large church was also possible. It wasn't that far to Prerow anymore, so I could allow myself to relax a bit and spend a lot of time. The density of bicycles on the nice, but often rather uneven, bicycle paths was quite intense. But the Germans are disciplined, and so you have to be yourself. The large number of children cycling was also striking. Quite exemplary indeed. On the bridge over to the island of Zingst there was almost a cycle queue. It is an extremely popular holiday island and on a public holiday in that weather it must be packed. The campsite Regenbogen in Prerow is situated in the very, so I had to drag my bike through deep sand before the tent could be pitched. Fortunately, the pegs did their work anyway. On the beach it was high noon, and I fell into good conversation on a high bench at a beach bar. I had dinner at a fish restaurant. I was starving and ate quickly, so it was hard to enjoy the delicious fish. The waiter noticed that too. Then you really are in Germany!
