In the morning I cycled down to the Denmark terminal and took a steamer to Frederikshavn. In the line for the ferry I met a Swedish-Kurdish married couple, Shanaz and Thomas, who on this very day embarked on a whole year of cycling to Iraq or more correctly Kurdistan. They intend to follow the European west coast, including the British Isles, all the way down to Portugal, before turning east on to Turkey and into Iraq. Quite an adventure. An suddenly my own cycling holiday seemed like a trip to the local supermarket. In Denmark the wind had turned to a southerly one. So I had a headwind again! Coffee break and a large ice cream at Saeby. My goal of the day was a campsite north of Hals, where I cooked my dinner in the camping kitchen.
