Döbeln ist eine Große Kreisstadt im sächsischen Landkreis Mittelsachsen. Sie ist auch als Stiefelstadt 
bekannt. Döbeln ist mit rund 24.000 Einwohnern die zweitgrößte Stadt Mittelsachsens. Sie liegt im Tal der Freiberger Mulde.
Sehenswürdigkeiten
Die markantesten Gebäude der Innenstadt sind
- ⊙die spätgotische Stadtkirche St. Nikolai aus dem 15. Jahrhundert mit sehenswertem Altar und
- ⊙das Rathaus von 1912,
beide am Obermarkt gelegen.
- ⊙Stadtmuseum, Obermarkt 1 (im Rathausturm).
Geöffnet: Di 10-18 Uhr, Mi-Do 10-16 Uhr, Fr 9 bis 12 Uhr. Preis: Eintritt: Erwachsene 2 €, Kinder 1 €. Letzte Änderung: Jan. 2016 - ⊙Döbelner Pferdebahn mit ⊙Pferdebahnmuseum
Die auf 500 m in der Stadtmitte wiederhergestellte Bahn verkehrt im Sommerhalbjahr an einem Tag pro Monat. An den Fahrtagen ist auch das Museum geöffnet. Fahrtage und weitere Informationen siehe Seite des Traditionsverein "Döbelner Pferdebahn e. V."
