Laupheim ist eine Stadt in Oberschwaben. Sie liegt an der Oberschwäbischen Barockstraße.
Hintergrund
Laupheim liegt im nördlichen Oberschwaben. Der Ort wurde erstmals 778 urkundlich erwähnt, damals gehörte er zum Herzogtum Schwaben. 1331 kam Laupheim in den Besitz der österreichischen Habsburger. 1806 kam der Ort zum Königreich Württemberg. Im Jahr 1869 erhielt Laupheim die Stadtrechte.
Sehenswürdigkeiten
- St. Peter und Paul, die Barockkirche wurde 1623-1661 erbaut.
- Leonhardskapelle, Friedhofskapelle aus dem Jahr 1445, ehemalige Wallfahrtskirche
- jüdischer Friedhof mit über 1000 Grabstätten. Der Friedhof ist öffentlich zugänglich.
- mehrere Brunnen (Neptunbrunnen, Marktbrunnen)

Das Museum zur Geschichte von Christen und Juden im Schloss Großlaupheim stellt auf eindrückliche Weise das Zusammenleben der Jüdischen Gemeinde Laupheim, der ehemals größten jüdischen Gemeinde Württembergs, mit den Christen in Laupheim dar. - Planetarium und Sternwarte, Milchstraße 1, 88471 Laupheim. ☎ +49 7392 91059. Geöffnet: Vorführzeiten des Planetariums siehe Veranstaltungskalender (Homepage). Preis: Eintritt Erw. Planetarium 6 €, Sternwarte 2 €.
