Properties

Stratight forward on the road, the state road No. 4, a good, tarmaced road without much traffic. In Utsjoki, where it ends, I changed to a minor, but tarmaced road to Nuorgam along the river Teno and the border to Norway. No traffic at all very late in the day.

Remarks

The last stretch to Nuorgam ended up, due to my laziness yesterday, a bit harsh in the end. It turned out the longest stage of them all. Breakfast in a large log cabin next to the Four Winds Cabin. Then northbound the only road to Utsjoki along the nature reserve of Kevo. In Utsjoki I had dinner in a restaurant and watched the first half of the WC-match England vs. USA. In stead of the second half there was a karaoke performance. Immensly funny, and it took a long time for me to get going towards Nuorgam. But the sun was out again. Threw myself into the snow along the roadside. In the month of June! The last climbs before Nuorgam turn out a little hard. Otherwise I followed the river Tana/Teno, which marks the border between Finland and Norway up here. Lovely to pitch my tent on the riverbank at the camp site and have a hot shower.
