Das Frühstück haben wir, wie in vielen Chambres d'Hôtes üblich, gemeinsam mit anderen Gästes des Hauses eingenommen. Es gab Baguette, Croissants, Marmelade, Käse und Kaffee.

Über eine schmale Nebenstraße radeln wir von Xouaxange Richtung Héming. Dabei geht es munter die Hügel hinauf und hinab. Ab Héming dann ein ordentlicher Anstieg um 50 Höhenmeter. Dann radeln wir hügelig entlang der D955 bis zum Saarkanal.

Am Kanal dann ein ähnliches Bild wie gestern. Allerdings ist die Landschaft abwechslungsreicher und offener.

Hinter dem Étang du Stock treffen wir gegen 11 Uhr auf eine jungen Radwanderer auf dem Weg nach Rom. Er hat einen Platten und weder Flickwerkzeug noch Ersatzschlauch dabei. Mit dem Schlauch ist schnell ausgeholfen. Und wir lassen einen glücklichen Mann zurück, der heute noch bis Colmar will.

Wir rollen weiter am Kanal abwärts.

Bei Sarralbe wieder mal eine Sperrung des Radweges. Hier muss die Kanalbrücke saniert werden. Und diesmal gibt es eine Umleitung, deren Anfang wir aber übersehen haben. Einen halben Kilometer müssen wir zurück. Dann radeln wir auf der Straße in den Ortskern von Sarralbe. In einem kleinen Park nehmen wir unsere Mittagsvesper ein.

Hinter Sarralbe sind wir wieder am Saarkanal. Mit sich wiederholenden Ausblicken radeln wir rund 20 Kilometer bis kurz vor Sarreguemines. Kanal und Saar sind jetzt im selben Bett.

Wir radeln am Ufer entlang bis zur Mündung der Blies in die Saar. Dort bietet sich die Gelegenheit, vom Radweg in die Stadt zu gelangen. Sehenswertes entdecken wir nicht und nach einem kurzen Halt am Supermarkt radeln wir zurück zum Radweg.

Immer am Saarufer entlang radeln wir bis zur Alten Brücke in Saarbrücken. Von dort ist es nur ein kurzes Stück durch die Stadt zum Hotel.

Am späten Nachmittag schlendern wir hinüber in den Stadtteil St. Johann, dem heutigen Zentrum von Saarbrücken. Auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant fürs Abendessen werden wir schnell am St. Johanner Markt fündig.
