Cycle Tour Bike trip to the North Cape

Again sunny all day long. Slightly cooler. Moderate westerly winds.

A day spent on the central Finnish roads, which are quite wide, splendidly tarmaced and with very little traffic, especially in the evening. Sometimes I don't see a car for an hour! Gravel road stretches on a short cut on a forest road and along the lake Alvajärvi, but good to ride with a little attention to the holes in it. In the evening I pass the administrative border to Northern Finland (Pohjois Pohjanmaa/Northhern Ostrobothnia. So far so good.

The second day of four towards Oulu. My aim was to go 100 km, and I had no fixed accomodation. It turned out a "wild" tent site not far from a closed regular camp site. Camping in Finland mostly begins only in mid-June. Breakfast secured from a tiny shop in Huopanankoski. Beautiful stage with many forests, lakes and hills. I had my lunck packet, lying on my back in the woods next to a path. Coffee break at a lake and dinner cooked myself after doing some shopping in Haapajärvi and arriving to the selfannounced camp spot. I had plans pitching my tent next to the sports complex, but signs said 'no camping', so I cycled on to a more convenient spot. Had a bath in ice cold water from a raft at the camp site.
